Following the Spirit

So last night while Josh was out golfing I decided to shred some papers, something we NEVER do. Josh usually just takes a bag full and burns them, but last night I thought I would get rid of the pile sitting on our counter. So while I was shredding I had to run and grab something for JJ real quick (literally 2 seconds) and as I come around the corner Carter is shredding a paper for me and down went his precious little finger into the sharp teeth of the shredder. I couldn't get the shredder to stop so I ripped it out of the wall. Seeing that Carters little finger was jammed in there pretty good, and hearing that he was in a lot of pain I didn't know what to do. Our phone wasn't working for some reason so I ran out the door calling for JJ to follow me and I ran to the neighbors across the street. Carter was histarical, and I wasn't the calmest mother in the world either. They helped me pry Carter finger out, it took two men to do it. I was so glad that they were there.
AND the neat part is, today my neighbor came by to see if Carter was okay, and he told me that last night they were on their way to the store to get some lids to can tomatoes. And the wife had a strong feeling that they should turn around and go home, they were almost to the store but they did turn back and decided to just do the tomatos another day. They had only been home a few minutes before I came barging in with Carter. I'm sure glad they listened to the spirit and were able to help me and Carter, especially since Josh wasn't home and I didn't know what to do. What awesome neighbors huh?

Carters finger is a little torn up, but after much consideration we decided against stitches. It looks great today and he is as happy as ever.

Carter Here, Carter there, Carter Carter EVERYWHERE and more random posts.

And I thought JJ was a busy body. Carter is everywhere you don't want him to be before you can stop him. He's so quick, and is such a good climber. He has recently learned how to climb up onto our counter height table, I don't know how he did it!

I came home from work this week and Josh had given the boys haircuts, or "buzz light-year cuts" As JJ put it. He just cut carter baby curls off in the back, they were getting a little muletish.

JJ taking a picture of me and Carter, not bad, we are actually in the picture.

Tonight was such a fun night for some reason. Josh took JJ golfing and I took Carter shopping at the mall.
JJ had a blast with his dad, he saw a canyon, a pond, lot's of rocks, the sunset, and a lizard??? Yeah, a weird dead lizard at the golf course in Idaho. Josh said he saw it too.
And me and Carter had fun joking and teasing in the car, he is so fun to play with because he always laughs and just loves the attention. And of course it was fun cause we went shopping, I bought 2 sweaters and a way cute hat. All 3 were great deals.... ofcourse.

I've decided that Seizures are the scariest things EVER!

While driving home from Twin yesterday, Josh happened to look back at Carter, his eyes were rolled back in his head and he was shaking uncontrollably. I yelled for Josh to pull over and we jumped out onto someone's lawn and layed him down. He was still seizing pretty bad, and it seemed like he wasn't breathing. I quickly called 911 not knowing what to do, Carter started turning blue, after about a minute his body started calming down. The scariest thing is when he came out of his seizure, things weren't quite right, it was almost like he was blind, or brain dead. He just stared up at Josh blankly with no expression, and it took over 10 minutes till he could even move his arms or legs, he just sat there, lifeless. We got to the emergency room and saw the doctor, by the time we waited we saw Carter getting more responsive and closer to acting like himself. The doctor said that the seizure was caused by a quick spike in temprature. He had been running a slight fever while we were at Josh's office, I figured he was teething, we were on our way home to get some tylenol. The doctor tested for other causes but that seemed to be it, Josh had some seizures when he was a little kid and grew out of them. I hope it never happens again, now that it's over he's totally okay (other than the high fever still) but when it was happening we seriously thought he was going to die, it was the scariest thing ever to see him like that. But our little precious is okay, he'll get some extra love the next few days, that's for sure! What a day!

Things that made me laugh this week

The office, Season 1
I am finally getting into this show and laughing so hard with Josh every night!

JJ playing by himself in his room with his new halloween ghost toy that Aunt Gentry bought him
" watch out..... we gotta get out of here.... the Holy Ghost is coming!"

My sister in law, Gentry, dressing up for ugly day at school. Inspired by the people we saw at the fair last week. Does any body recognize those hot gold shoes?

I love a good laugh!
